About the event
In the face of increasing uncertainty in the world, compassion fatigue, burnout, and secondary trauma are common challenges for social workers and counselors. Radical self-care goes beyond occasional relaxation techniques—it is a deeply intentional and sustainable approach to well-being that prioritizes mental, emotional, and physical resilience.
This interactive 4-hour workshop provides you with practical tools and evidence-based strategies to cultivate self-care practices that are restorative, realistic, and necessary for long-term effectiveness in their work. Participants will engage in guided exercises, self-reflection, and group discussions to explore how radical self-care can enhance their professional and personal lives while strengthening their ability to support others.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Define radical self-care and differentiate it from surface-level self-care practices.
Explore the role of radical self-care in preventing burnout and fostering professional sustainability.
Recognize limiting beliefs and systemic challenges that prevent consistent self-care.
