About the event
Discover how our fungi allies can help us cultivate optimal health on an individual, community, and planetary level. This class will highlight Louisiana mushroom species, exploring their medicinal value, everyday applications, and the innovative ways fungi are supporting human and ecological resilience.
Together, we’ll remove common fears and stigmas surrounding mushrooms by deepening our understanding of how they already touch our daily lives. Fungi can remediate pollutants, restore coastal ecosystems, provide food and medicine, and even be transformed into sustainable myco-materials. We’ll cover common mushrooms and their diverse uses, with plenty of opportunities for show-and-tell. Participants may also enjoy a sensory experience with mushroom tea or mocktails infused with Mycocentrics extracts.
