Rooted in Reverence: How Our Ancestors Shape the Paths We Walk

Who walks with you on your spiritual path?

For Danielle Marie, that question brings her back to her mother.

Danielle’s mother passed away in 2018, but the relationship did not simply end with her death. In the video below, Danielle shares how staying connected to her mother continues to ground her, guide her, and shape the way she moves through the world. Her story offers a beautiful reminder that the people who came before us can remain part of our lives in meaningful and deeply personal ways.

Our ancestors live within us in countless ways. We carry their stories, traditions, values, resilience, joys, wounds, and ways of understanding the world. Sometimes we recognize their influence immediately. Other times, we discover it only when we become curious about the patterns that seem to travel from one generation to the next.

How do your ancestors inspire your journey?

Perhaps you hear a loved one’s voice when you need encouragement. Maybe you continue a tradition that connects you to your family or culture. You may recognize a strength in yourself that was modeled by a parent or grandparent. Or perhaps part of your spiritual journey involves examining what you inherited and deciding what you want to carry forward and what you are ready to release.

Connecting with our ancestors does not require us to romanticize the past. Every family story contains complexity. Alongside love, wisdom, courage, and resilience, we may also inherit grief, silence, fear, expectations, or patterns that no longer serve us.

The invitation is to become more conscious of what we carry.

Through meditation, reflection, journaling, ritual, and meaningful discussion, participants will explore the stories, wisdom, and patterns passed down through generations. Together, we will consider how we can connect with and honor those who came before us while also creating space for healing, choice, and renewal.

This journey invites you to ask:

  • What wisdom have I inherited?

  • What patterns am I ready to understand differently?

  • What deserves to be honored and remembered?

  • What am I ready to release?

  • And what kind of ancestor do I hope to become?

Ultimately, ancestral work is not only about looking backward. It is also about becoming more intentional about the life we are creating now and the legacy we will one day leave behind.

You are welcome to attend individual sessions that speak to you or experience the full seven-week journey.
