About the event
Join us for a contemplative journey into the ancestral magic, resilience, and everyday brilliance of Black women throughout American history. Drawing from Lindsey Stewart’s The Conjuring of America: Mojos, Mermaids, Medicine, and 400 Years of Black Women’s Magic , a book that interweaves ancestral practice and historical research, we will explore the conjure traditions, plant medicines, creative practices, and spiritual wisdom that have shaped our culture in remarkable and often unseen ways.
Each week, we will reflect on how these stories invite us to expand our understanding of healing, liberation, and selfhood. Through discussion, reflective prompts, and shared insight, we will create space for deeper awareness, new perspectives, and connection with the wisdom that lives within and around us.
Come be part of a community of inquiry as we honor the legacy of these women and discover how their magic continues to guide our lives today.
