About the event
What happens when we begin to see our yards, gardens, and green spaces not simply as something to maintain, but as places of connection, purpose, and possibility?
In uncertain and often overwhelming times, many of us are searching for meaningful ways to respond to the challenges facing our world. Rewilding our green spaces with native plants offers a small but powerful place to begin. As we restore habitat, welcome biodiversity, and reconnect with the natural rhythms of the place we call home, we may discover that the healing is not only happening around us, it is happening within us, too.
This engaging and reflective introduction to native plants explores both the practical and deeper why behind rewilding. Participants will learn how native plants support the unique ecology of South Louisiana while considering the ways tending the earth can cultivate hope, joy, belonging, and a renewed sense of purpose.
