About the event

What happens when age and gender collide in a culture that too often equates a woman’s value with youth?

In recognition of Ageism Awareness Day, join clinical social worker, educator, and longtime advocate Gina Rossi, LCSW-BACS, MHSA, for an engaging and thought-provoking workshop exploring the unique ways ageism affects women.

Ageism is often subtle. It appears in jokes, assumptions, advertising, healthcare, workplaces, relationships, and everyday conversations. These messages can become so commonplace that we may not recognize when they diminish, dismiss, or render older women invisible. Over time, these cultural attitudes can also become internalized, shaping how women view their own bodies, abilities, identities, and worth.

Through research, reflection, and interactive exercises, Gina will explore the emotional and physical consequences of internalized ageism and offer practical ways to recognize and reframe age-based assumptions. Participants will be invited to examine their own beliefs about aging and consider how we can respond…
