About the event
Modern research affirms what many of us intuitively know: time in nature is essential for our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This panel brings together pioneering educators and community leaders who are reimagining how we can reconnect with the natural world for health, growth, and authentic living.
Moderated by Lilia Kapsali, this interactive panel will begin with a brief introduction to the research evidence demonstrating the benefits of nature connection for mental and physical health, as well as its profound role in human development and self-realization. Following this overview, our panelists will share their groundbreaking initiatives:
Shelley Scott Smith of Little Learners Outdoors
Matthew Heron of Coastal Plains Outdoor School
Jordan and Kezia Bantuelle of All You Need Institute
Each panelist will present their unique approach to place-based education and community programming, offering models that serve children, adults, or both. Their work highlights alternative, research-based pathways to education and living…
