Tai Chi: Mobility for Life

Tai Chi is a wonderful mind-body exercise. Mind-body exercises combine body movement with mental focus and slow breathing. This combination supports relaxation and improves health and fitness. Clinical studies have shown that the slow, circular, and flowing movements enhance muscular strength, flexibility, and stamina while improving balance and posture.
In this beginner’s level class, you will practice the elements of a 14 move Yang style Tai Chi form. Come join us for this interesting and unique form of exercise that can be practiced throughout life. This is a very gentle exercise for all skill levels and no previous experience required.
Facilitated by Lisa Langlois, PhD, DMs, Reiki Master, and Meditation Teacher Certified as a Meditation Teacher by Natura Institute, Dr. Lisa has extensive practice and understanding of different meditation practices.

Those of us who are financially secure exploit the poor. Some lives are made small so that others may grow. This compassionate book gives us new ways of thinking about a morally urgent problem.

The Fall Quarter is all about healing, breaking free from old patterns, finding the courage to change and learning to feel safe, even in the midst of change.
Some things we will focus on this Fall quarter:
- Are you experiencing a high degree of change in your life?
- Do you feel stalled and ready for change?
- Do you have difficulty with the darkness of winter months?
- Are you prone to winter time colds and flus or are you dealing with a serious illness?
- Do you have an interest in healing or in what lies beyond the veil of death?
- Do you have trouble letting go of control and trusting the process of life?
- Would you like to feel safe and at peace in the midst of change?
- Are you ready to move beyond transient successes to achieve true personal mastery?
If so, the spiritual work of fall may be particularly relevant to you.
Sessions include information and exercises for applying spiritual principles to everyday life and an interactive opportunity to ask questions and receive personal input. Join any time. Drop in or attend regularly.
Facilitated by Lynn Woodland, creator of the Miracles Course, is an international teacher and human potential expert whose particular expertise is in what gives rise to miracles and in teaching ordinary people to live extraordinary lives so that miracles become, not just possible, but natural.

Learn wisdom teachings from conversations with nature beings, such as Snowy Owl and Snake about the role we have in bringing balance to the planet. By opening our minds, hearts, and senses we can consciously awaken to the magic of the wild, the rhythms of nature, and the profound feminine wisdom of the Earth.
Through weekly discussions, we will reclaim and strengthen our capacity to face planetary crises and respond with unexpected resilience and creative power.

Bring Meaning to the Path of Grief: Receive the Gifts of the Labyrinth

As the holidays approach, grief over the loss of loved ones is felt more intensely. Join us for a day of rest and retreat, a day of gentle reflection and processing with others who are also
experiencing the loss of a loved one.
Restorative yoga, guided meditation and group Reiki will gently prepare and guide the mind, body and spirit toward comfort and healing. Creating a holiday empty chair, an art therapy exercise to commemorate our loved one, will give expression to grief. Our day will include card making for letters to heaven, Zen gardens, finger labyrinths, journaling prompts and mandala coloring sheets. After a sacred labyrinth walk and ceremony in honor of your loved one, we will conclude with a time of journaling and reflection.
Please bring photos of your loved one(s), as well as any special items that belonged to them for the empty chair exercise.
Facilitated by Paris Brewster, she is certified in Grief Counseling, Hypnosis, Reiki, Restorative Yoga and Labyrinth Facilitation. She incorporates Restorative Yoga, Guided Meditation, Labyrinth Facilitation and Art Therapy into her grief workshops.

This prayer in motion is in an uplifting and spirit-filled way to heal our community and our world. The dances we share are simple patterns of movement carrying truths and values from a variety of countries and traditions. Whether you sit or dance, or just keep the beat, the music, song and movement will weave us together as One
Facilitated by Elizabeth Moore Standifer, a Baton Rouge-born dancer, who was a member of Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre 1977-80. Elizabeth completed graduate
studies in Dance Therapy in 2022 and has a passion for including all dancers, with and without disabilities. She offers Dances of Peace in both Louisiana and Washington State.

In 2021 she dove back into her astrological studies and graduated from Debra Silverman’s Applied Astrology school. There she experienced the ancient art of astrology through the lens of psychology and learned to guide others to practically apply the insights gained from studying their unique astrological chart as a pathway to self-compassion. Jodi works with the elemental energies daily, follows the moon cycles, and is passionate about sharing what she has learned with others.
