The Missing Peace: A Conversation with Author Nere Lartitegui

Tuesday, May 2

5:30 pm

At Cocha

Location: 445 N. 6th Street

Please join us to discuss The Missing Peace with author Dr. Nere Lartitegui.

The Missing Peace aims to inspire people to live an authentic life with peace as the most treasured and indispensable ingredient. With the use of simple yet effective tools, Nere Lartitegui inspires her readers to move from victimhood, struggle, and anger to inner harmony. Her greatest hope is to open her reader's eyes to a new possibility to experience life with joy, happiness, and peace-filled contentment.

Nere's life has spanned more than eight decades, three distinct cultures, and two radically different careers. Yet, her course in life might sound familiar to any of us. Ultimately she helps us answer the questions: What happens when we pursue the things we believed would lead us to gratification only to discover that we are still unfulfilled? How do we move from dissatisfaction to inner peace?

Please join us for a conversation and meet & greet with Nere, moderated by Claire Bateman. This special event will be held at the restaurant Cocha in Baton Rouge.

Michael Conforti - Zoom Lecture

Rituals: the Symbolic Life

Saturday, May 13

10:30 am - 12:30 pm

At The Red Shoes

A Zoom Lecture for The Red Shoes Community Michael will be on Zoom leading our interactive, community" classroom" at The Red Shoes.

From the very beginning of life, we are involved in traditions and rituals. We are welcomed into the world, experience transitions from childhood to adolescence and then into adulthood. We fall in love, we may marry, we may bring new life into the world. Our ancestors understood the spiritual and archetypal significance of these rituals.

However, in contemporary life we are consumed and intoxicated by the parties and fanfare, we indulge in the secular and the literal, neglecting the spiritual aspects that support our needs and make meaning in our lives.

Together, with the vision and scholarship of Michael Conforti, we will explore humanity’s innate need to find inner representation for what we experience within the inner and outer worlds, including our dreams, relationships, fantasies, and more.

Facilitated by Michael Conforti, Pd.D., internationally known Jungian analyst, author and speaker. A pioneer in the field of matter-psyche studies, his work has resulted in a new discipline: Archetypal Pattern Analysis. Dr. Conforti has served on faculty at the C.G. Jung Foundation of New York. He is the founder/director of the Assisi Institute.

Meditation: EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)

Wednesday, May 17

5:00 - 6:00 pm

At The Red Shoes

It is no secret that as human beings, we experience anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. In the last few years, we have been well-acquainted with distressing uncertainty. Did you know that tapping on certain areas of the body can help reduce pain and stress? EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and meditation can help us tap into our natural healing potential. EFT uses the powerful tool of tapping on meridian points to break up stagnant energy that may be causing us emotional, mental, and physical pain or tension. By stimulating these points on our bodies, we significantly reduce or eliminate the distress that accompanies any problems we face in our beautiful and troubled world.

Facilitated by Holly Liner, Certified Meditation and EFT Practitioner from The Priority Academy. With a passion for healing and learning, she also has experience in leading programs in public libraries and has a Bachelor's degree in English literature.

Ritual of Letting Go

Wednesday, May 24

6:00 - 8:00 pm

At The Red Shoes

Are you holding onto emotional and mental scars that are blocking your growth, shadowing the light that is your true essence, or standing in the way of your moving forward? Is guilt, anger, resentment, fear, grief, anxiety, doubt, or some event from the past contracting your body, mind, and spirit? The emotional scars of past wounds are carried with us in the body and color the lens through which we experience life.
Ritual and ceremony provide a safe space for powerful transformation to occur. Letting go is not about erasing, burying or trying to forget, but rather recognizing what can be learned, gained, and giving gratitude for the opportunity to grow.
Using the tools of somatic releasing techniques, movement, journaling, despacho creation, affirmation, sankalpa, guided meditation and the 5 elements of fire, earth, air, water, and ether, Beth will lead you in practices designed to help you explore coming to terms with that which you wish to release. Let go in a transformative ritual to open your heart and create space for a new beginning.
