Introduction to Core Shamanism: Returning Spirit to Our World
Saturday  & Sunday

July 10 & 11

9am - 5pm

Shamanism is the most ancient form of healing known. Cave paintings and ritual objects dated 12,000-40,000 years ago, found across all inhabited continents, attest to its potency. Throughout these millennia, humans have reached beyond their 3-dimensional world for survival, connection, and meaning. We all are their descendants, but in today’s Western culture, linear and scientific ways of knowing have come to be overemphasized as both primary and as the only way of knowing and healing, splitting us off from the world of spirit and soulful matters.

In this workshop we will explore core shamanism, a non-indigenous spiritual methodology to access a greater reality, revealing that everything is alive with spirit. We will learn the shamanic journey, a cross-cultural form of shifting consciousness, and meet allies who will guide us in accessing deeper ways of knowing and show us rituals and ceremonies that can begin healing us and our relationships with all beings.

For the workshop, you will need an eye cover (bandanna, sleep mask), a small blanket or throw, warm socks or slippers, a rattle or hand drum (if you have them), and a journal. It is important to be free of mood-altering substances (caffeine okay) 24-48 hours prior to and during our time together, unless it is a necessary prescription medication.

Please be prompt, and on Saturday plan to arrive 20 minutes ahead of time to complete registration and set up your space.

Facilitated by Cecile Carson, MD, who taught for many years at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She is an international shamanic teacher, practitioner, and a Founding Board Member of the Society for Shamanic Practice. She is also editor of the anthology Spirited Medicine: Shamanism In Contemporary Healthcare.

The Shifting Ground: Psychological Types in Turmoil

Saturday July 17       10:30am-12pm

The year 2020 has imprinted its chaos in our minds, hearts and our bodies. Consciousness, as individuals and as a collective, has been challenged in an unprecedented way. Jung's theory of Psychological Types can help us understand, in part, our responses to the tensions, struggles and tasks inherent in such a time of upheaval.

Conscious and unconscious psychological preferences have been affected positively and negatively by a new reality that has shifted the ground upon which we stand. In relation to this past year's turmoil and now adjusting to the new evolving landscape, this presentation will explore introversion and extraversion, sensing and intuition, and thinking and feeling, with the hope of deepening an understanding of yourself and others.

Facilitated by Marilyn Marshall, LPC, Jungian Psychoanalyst. Marilyn works in a variety of ways, from short term psychotherapy for problem-solving to longer term depth psychological work. As a Jungian psychoanalyst she is especially attentive to the value and purpose of dreams and to the unconscious information behind the provoking experiences of the present and of the past.

Wednesday July 21
6:30-8:00 pm

Kristin embraces expansion and love-based leadership. Her personal path is guiding her to dismantle the non-truths that have shaped her life and beliefs so that she can re-orient to her fullest expression and truth.  She has supported clients in 15 countries. Her method facilitates a co-created space to identify and clear subconscious beliefs and integrate channeled truths from your higher self. Kristin is also trained as a medical medium.
