The Key: Searching, Sharing and Living Thursdays April 5-26 6-7pmEnter a safe place for men to meet that allows for authentic growth. Our greatest challenge is often not found in our human choices but rather in discerning the Divine Presence and guidance hidden deep within our lives. We hope to draw from the power of spirit present within each of us to find the courage to strip away the pretense of our false selves and discover new energies and joy grounded within our souls. Using Richard Rohr’s book Wild Men to Wise Men: Reflections on Male Spirituality as a guide, our group will encourage each participant to question, learn and grow. By coming together through prayer, fellowship and unconditional acceptance, we hope that our men's group will lead to lives lived fully in relationship with the Divine.
Facilitated by David Dragon, whose spiritual life was influenced deeply by an initiation as a Beloved Son of God in Chicago; and Tom Lastrapes, who has participated in a variety of Richard Rohr programs including the Male Rites of Passage program. Dance of the Dissident Daughter - Book Group Fridays April 13-May 4 10:30am-noonIt frequently takes a series of wake-up calls or collisions with the truth to jolt a woman into a deep awakening to the Sacred Feminine. The subtitle of this classic by Sue Monk Kidd, A Woman's Journey from Christian Tradition to the Sacred Feminine, reveals her journey toward a feminine spirituality which includes a passionate struggle for dignity, value and power. In this book study, we will reflect on the challenges we face on the path toward the wholeness that women have lost within patriarchal structures. We will become a “circle of trees,” Kidd’s metaphor for the container that holds and nurtures a woman during the process of reconnecting to her feminine soul.

She moves into darkness. The shadows where it is still...quiet. It’s there she finds rest. A space to renew, A place to come home to… So we too return to ourselves once again. We become whole once more and feel our light within, flicker and rise and dance. Gather together for poetry, ritual and prayer as we learn about Rosh Chodesh, the Jewish holiday that celebrates the new moon and the beginning of a new month in the Jewish calendar. According to tradition, when the Children of Israel built the golden calf, the women refused to participate. As a reward, they were given Rosh Chodesh, a time to celebrate the reappearance of the Shekhinah, the feminine Divine presence. Explore the beauty of this holiday, a celebration of women and femininity, a time for introspection and reflection. Find the strands in the ritual that weave throughout all of our faith traditions.
Facilitated by Becky Simmons, who created and lovingly leads a regular Rosh Chodesh circle.
