What are the thoughts and ideas that will help make 2010 a Happy New Year? How can we use the year ahead to know that we are creating meaningful change?
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. Buddha
Rather than look forward to what may come in the year ahead, we can be still and sense the present moment - a moment that has all that we need. The time we spend in anticipation and then in varying degrees of disappointment are all eliminated if we live in the Now. However, our fast-paced, multi-tasking culture works hard to divert us from this.
The programs at The Red Shoes are designed to create a “cathedral in time,” a sacred time and space for being. Yoga, art, meditation and women’s circles create an atmosphere that uncovers the path for the inner journey. Special activities this spring will offer opportunities to experience personal transformation in harmony with the religious themes of the season. Book and film studies will heighten awareness of our connection to the earth and the interconnection of all beings. This sense of oneness is in Eckhart Tolle’s words, “The Power of Now.” So for the coming year, let’s try to remember, there is no time like the present, to be present. And to emphasize what a treasure each moment truly is.
You are here to enable the divine purpose of the universe to unfold. That is how important you are!Eckhart Tolle
Just as a small pebble creates ripples across the ocean, our positive energy, our authentic presence, and the supportive community of The Red Shoes can empower each of us to be co-creators of a more just world, a world brimming with blessing in 2010. All we have to do is say Yes to this moment.
