We have a candle holder at The Red Shoes that is
placed in the center of many of our circles. We don’t begin our gatherings
until the candle is lit. As many of you know, the candleholder is four
beautiful angels holding hands around the light of an ivory pillar candle. The
angels seem to hold the light, protecting it with their sacred presence. As we
sit, the light illuminates the smooth faces of the angels, light dances on one
face and then another as the candle flickers.When we sit quietly in community around the angels, it is as if they are
holding us in circle, a connection as strong as their sculpted hands.The flame at the center reflects our divine
spark, the light we each carry bringing godliness into this world. It is up to
each of us to find our unique ways to add light.
